A hospital is built by many hands

TEMCO is one hospital, and it takes a long list of people to put it up and keep it running. If you refer patients, supply clinical equipment, build things, or run clinical services, there is a way in here.

What we are building toward

A 130-bed specialist hospital at the airport Special Economic Zone in Gaborone, opening in 2029, built so that Batswana are treated at home and the region flies in for care. Roughly 300 construction roles during the build and 740 permanent roles at full operation, with a specialist training pipeline behind them. Everything below is a real route in, at the stage the project is actually at.

Referring clinicians and specialist groups

If you look after patients who currently travel for structural-heart intervention, complex electrophysiology, robotic-assisted surgery or radiation oncology, those are the cases TEMCO is built to keep in the region. Referral is a loop that brings your patient back to you, treated, with a full discharge summary and a follow-up plan, so continuity of care stays where it belongs.

Medical equipment and clinical technology

Medical equipment is the largest imported line in this project and it gets bought once, so we intend to take our time over it. The service position matters to us as much as the equipment, because a machine nobody can maintain in Gaborone is no use to a hospital. We are working through land allocation and pre-construction, which puts procurement some way ahead of us, and the relationships are worth starting now.

Engineering, construction and the trades

Engineering and architecture are delivered by the project's own in-house team, and procurement is shared with the contractors we work alongside. Packages will go to market as the programme moves from pre-construction into the build, and the list we work from is being assembled now.

Clinical operations and institutional partners

TEMCO works with a clinical operations partner for protocols, specialist staffing pipelines and training integration, and the standard of care is set on the JCI pathway from the first day of operations. We are open to institutional relationships that deepen clinical capability, referral pathways, laboratory and diagnostic collaboration, or specialist service partnerships across the region.

We do not take equity positions in other healthcare facilities. Murua Home (Pty) Ltd is a project company formed to develop and operate a single hospital in Botswana, and that is the whole of its business, so proposals for us to invest into another clinic or group are outside what we are able to do. Referral relationships, specialist pathways and clinical collaboration are a different conversation, and a welcome one.
